SOLAR PV

Solar PV harnesses the sun's energy and reduces your electricity bills. Whether you have a spare barn or space on your home for a roof mounted system, or unused farmland suitable for a ground mounted system, a site survey will allow us to create a bespoke system to suit you.

How does Solar work?

Solar panels absorb the sun’s energy and convert it into DC electricity; this is then fed into an inverter which converts the electricity into our every day AC electricity.

Panels can generate electricity all year round but work best on clearer days.

The key to a cost-effective solar system is for us to analyse your electricity usage and current energy bills to create a bespoke system that makes the most of the space you have available and your budget to reduce your bills substantially.

Once installed you use as much of the energy as you need and the rest is either stored in a battery (if your system has one), sold back into the grid, or as is most common a bit of both.

What are the benefits of solar?

Reduced bills are the most talked about benefit of solar and why most customers come to us in the first place, and with potential savings of hundreds of thousands of pounds over the lifetime of your system and an average return on investment of 3 - 5 years, it’s not surprising, but there are other benefits too.

Depending on your system the installation of solar can also mean your business or home can keep running even when storms or other unexpected events disrupt the power from the grid.

There’re also the environmental benefits. Businesses are now under more pressure to reduce their carbon footprint, and the pressures are only set to increase. Some companies are even aiming for net zero carbon emissions. Solar is a great way to reduce the use of fossil fuels.

Roof Mounted Solar

Roof mounted systems are the most cost effective way to install solar, and the majority will fall within permitted development, meaning there's no delay to installation waiting for planning permission.

The number of panels you can fit will of course depend on the size of your roof, but we will ensure your system is designed to generate the most electric possible.

If your roof needs an upgrade to support the system we can help with that too, click here for more information or contact us for a chat.

Ground Mounted Solar

Ground mounted systems are perfect if you don’t have a suitable roof, require a larger scale installation or have some land which isn’t achieving your desired returns.

Requiring planning permission, these systems use a frame secured to the ground to mount the panels. Our trusted supplier will manage the project for you from applying for planning permission and selling back into the grid through to installation and maintenance.
