If you have a demand for energy after the sun goes down, then battery storage is an essential element of your solar installation.

Installing a battery on your system means you can store unused electricity during the day for self-consumption once the sun stops generating, saving you further money on your electricity bills.

The batteries are automated, monitoring your energy production, energy usage and their own charge level. When you are producing more electricity than you are using the batteries charge themselves ready for when usage outweighs production. Once the batteries have been fully charged by the sun any excess energy is sold back to the grid.

When the sun stops shining and more energy is needed than is being produced the batteries discharge extending the time in the day that electric doesn’t need to be pulled from the grid.
